Sonic Happenings at Minnow Arts

Minnow Arts presents a two night event of experimental performance featuring the works of artist Matt Robidoux, Volvo240DL, and Poor Clares. Curated by Caleb Gomes and Albert Peacock, the first night will feature a showcase of three audio/visual performances from SF Bay Area artists, while the second night encourages a more improvisational setting as Volvo240DL and Poor Clares navigate sonic collaboration to complement installation work from Clair Bathum, Ben Krasner, and Grace Cofrancesco.

The event will take place June 25th and 26th from 6-10PM. Standing room only, presale tickets are $15 and limited.

Matt Robidoux

Matt Robidoux is a San Francisco based composer, improviser, and community organizer interested in the interstices of movement and sound, accessibility within contemporary music and the communicative capacities of sonic energy.

For this performance they will be improvising on a custom touch controlled "aluminum corn synth" and video feedback system, which incorporates some of the same modules as the Buchla 100, but controlled by aluminum corn. Matt will also be  performing selections from the 2021 release "at dust".

Volvo240DL

Volvo240DL is collaborative project between multidisciplinary artist and maker, Grace Cofrancesco and composer and artist Albert Peacock. The duo was born out of a shared desire for cathartic expression that culminated in an impromptu performance between the artists at a local gallery show in Santa Cruz, CA. Since, they have come together to explore what years of anxious energy has inspired in their individual artistic ventures, as a pair. Their performances examine, deconstruct, and recreate narratives of decay, destruction, piety, and pain through absurdism, humor, and often a litany of repeating images and sounds.

Poor Clares

Poor Clares is the sonic collaboration between musicians and composers Ben Krasner and Caleb Gomes.
